Duration:120 min, ongoing
March 2016, Amsterdam
A performance installation tracing the journey of household pharmaceutical waste. The installation consists of a documented investigation done in Amsterdam pharmacies and waste factory (sound), a DIY laboratory set-up for a pharma-botanical experiment, and a 2-hour loop of a 15-minutes live action, which together make up a repetitive funeral for the expired pills. The artwork addresses political questions related to pharmaceutical industry and the environment, consumerism, citizen responsibility, along with the more universal themes such as ancient connection between plants and medicine, and the biological cycle of life, death and intermediate deterioration.
